5th International Summer School 'New Frontiers in Optical Technologies' concludes

The 5th International Summer School 'New Frontiers in Optical Technologies' concluded Friday August 14th. The five day event was held at Tampere University of Technology, and featured experts from a wide range of fields presenting introductions to a comprehensive selection of leading-edge research topics. The School's photovoltaics-themed panel discussion, held on Thursday, gave participants an opportunity to engage with academic professionals and industry representatives in the field.  The exceptional quality of the lectures, and the participation of close to 180 participants from over 20 countries created a stimulating and inspiring atmosphere and a high level of debate.

Prizes were awarded to Oleg Pronin and Pawel Podemski for exhibiting the best posters in an extremely competitive poster session which also took place on Thursday. The organisers would like to thank all participants and sponsoring organisations for once again making the School a resounding success, and look forward to hosting the next Summer School in 2011.
